Rates and Prep

Rates for all services offered are listed below. Please carefully read through the quilt preparation notes in all of the sections to ensure a smooth quilting experience and a timely turn around time. My current turn around time is 2-4 weeks depending the type of services needed. Thank you!

Quilting

All of my quilting is charged by the square inch at two different price points. There is a minimum of $40 for quilting.

These prices do not include batting or additional services. Thread is included in this price.

Edge to Edge

Edge to edge quilting is any one design repeated over the entire surface of the quilt.

I charge $.02 per square inch for all computerized edge to edge quilting patterns.

Example: Your quilt is 60”x80”

60 x 80 = 4800

4800 x .02 = 96

Your edge to edge quilting cost is $96

Custom

Custom quilting is considered to be 2 or more designs or motifs quilted on the same quilt. I use a combination of computer automation, ruler work, and freehand designs to compliment your quilt.

I charge $.035 per square inch for all custom quilting

Example: Your quilt is 60” x 80”

60 x 80 = 4800

4800 x .035 = 168

Your custom quilting cost is $168

Batting

You are always welcome to provide your own batting. If you’d like to purchase batting from me I have Hobb’s 80/20 cotton-poly blend in stock at all times. If you’d like me to special order a specific material or brand of batting please let me know!

All batting must be at least 3 inches wider than the quilt top on all four sides. Add 6 inches to the width and length of your quilt top to determine how much batting you will need.

Price Per Linear Inch

I charge by the linear inch for Hobb’s 80/20. The cost is $.27 per linear inch.

Example: Your quilt is 60 inches wide.

60 + 6 = 66

66 x .27 = $17.82

Your batting costs $17.82

Pricing for special orders will be determined at the time of request.

Backing and Labels

I recommend using extra wide backing options for your quilt. Not only will it save you the work, but the seamless backing will load onto the frame perfectly! If you do have to piece your backing I recommend piecing it so the seam runs horizontally to minimize bulk when loading the backing, but if neither are possible, don’t stress! Your quilt will come out looking amazing regardless.

All backings must be at least 4 inches wider on all four sides of the quilt top. Add 8 inches to the width and length of your quilt top to determine how large your backing should be.

Piecing and Label attachment pricing

If you’d like me to piece your backing I charge $10 per seam.

There is a flat fee of $10 to attach a premade label to your backing.

Trim and Serge

I personally like to trim and serge the edges of my quilts to give them a nice clean finish. The stitched edges also makes the job of binding much easier!

Trim and Serge Pricing

I charge a flat rate of $10 for all trimming and serging requests.

Binding

I complete all binding by machine. You will be able to see the stitching on either side of the binding when it is done. I can also attach your binding to just the top of your quilt if you prefer to hand stitch it to the back yourself.

Binding Options

I charge a flat rate of $15 if you’d like me to make your binding (cutting the strips, sewing the strips together and pressing).

I charge $.10 per linear inch to complete your binding and $.07 per linear inch to attach to the top only.

Example: Your quilt top is 60” x 80”

60 + 60 + 80 + 80 = 280

280 x .10 = 28 OR 280 x .07 = 19.6

The cost is $28 to complete your binding OR $19.60 to attach to the top only

Basting

Do you plan on quilting your quilt by yourself but have a hard time crawling around the floor to pin baste? I can help you! I’d be happy to use my longarm to stitch baste your quilt sandwich so you don’t have to!

Basting is included in the price of quilting if I am doing the quilting for you. This price is for those seeking basting services only

Price per square inch

I charge $.007/sq inch to baste your quilt sandwich. I baste in horizontal lines 4 inches apart with a stitch length of 1/2 inch. This can be adjusted according to your preferences.

Example:

Your quilt is 60” x 80”

60 x 80 = 4800

4800 x .007 = 33.6

The cost to baste your quilt is $33.60
